Governor's correspondence, 1844-1848.

These are incoming letters to Governor William Owsley which document administrative activities of the chief executive. Topics brought to the governor's attention include the question of the Kentucky boundary along the Ohio River, and legislation allowing an inadequate number of indigent students to attend the Kentucky Asylum for the Tuition of the Deaf and Dumb. Also present are copies of resolutions made by the Maryland Legislature, and a copy of a letter from the warden of the Kentucky State Penitentiary to the governor of Massachusetts concerning prison labor.
